ON THE BALL
On The Ball is a Saturday morning football club for neurodiverse children, run by Action-attainment, a small charity in west London, in collaboration with Brentford FC Community Supporters Trust. But this isn’t just a film about football. It’s about having fun, being part of a team, the power of sport to help children learn how to win, how to lose and, above all, for children too often excluded from sport at school - to feel like they belong.
Action-attainment is run by the parent of one of our copywriters, and so this project was a real labour of love. Made on a shoestring budget and in our own time, me, Lucy and Jamie developed the creative idea, wrote the script, assembled a crew, managed the budget, hired the kit, organised transport, did the coffee run, managed the file transfers, as well being both agency and client.
The film will be used to promote On The Ball to more families, as well to encourage the FA and other Premier League clubs to follow Brentford’s example and set up On The Ball programmes within their local communities.
