A DAY FOR US
Challenged with raising awareness and participation in NSPCC’s Childhood Day, ‘A Day for Us’ follows nine-year-old Devine as he wakes up on the morning of Childhood Day. “This is a day for us”, he declares as he leaps out of bed and gets ready for his day of play. Following him through the house, we’re drawn in by his infectious enthusiasm for the day, and for the role “mums, dads and people in big offices” can play, too.
But through the excitement and bustle of breakfast and school bags, there’s a serious reason to get involved – the abuse, fear, and loneliness that over half a million children face each year. Animation brings his imagination and this vital message to life, and makes it clear to us that kids can’t fight this abuse alone.
Devine asks us to play games, have fun and raise money to help keep children safe and, as his best friend arrives – cupcakes in hand – to celebrate Childhood Day at school, we’re left with a clear message to sign up and make sure we all play our part.
